2012 ELCA Youth Gathering Information
WHAT: National gathering sponsored by the ELCA of over 36,000 high school youth and adults practicing peacemaking, discipleship and justice. For more information about the gathering, click here.
WHEN: July 17-23, 2012 (Event begins on July 18 and ends on July 22 but we will travel the day before the event begins and the day after the event ends.
WHERE: New Orleans, LA
WHO: Students in 9th - 12th grade during the 2011-2012 school year and adult faith mentors. Click here to download the invitation letter from Pastor Tim & Rozella.
COST: The cost of the event is around $1,300 per person, which includes meals, housing, transportation and programming. HOWEVER, Redeemer is committed to keeping the cost for families to $500 per person. We have been given $5,000 by Pastor Tim and will hold fundraisers to provide for the remaining costs. WANNA GO?
- Attend the informational meeting on Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm in the Reception Room at Redeemer.
- Download and complete the Redeemer Youth Gathering Sign-Up Form and send it to Rozella.
- Download and complete the ELCA Youth Gathering Official Registration Form.
- If you have not completed a 2011-2012 Youth Ministry Participation Form, download it here.
- Attend the Citizens with the Saints kickoff tour, Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Norcross. See information below.
- Submit ALL forms and your deposit of $150 by Sunday, October 2, 2011. Checks should be made payable to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Getting Ready
On Saturday, October 2, 2011, join Lutheran youth from around Atlanta as we prepare for the 2012 ELCA Youth Gathering. We will meet at Redeemer at 12:00 pm for lunch and leave for Christ the King Lutheran in Norcross at 12:30 pm. The concert begins at 1:00 pm and includes Christian hip hop artist AGAPE, Rachel Kurtz and Redeemer's own Pastor Matt and his band Starboarders. We hope to see you there!
